On 5 February 2025, ADSP joined the Second Asia Pacific Regional Review of the Implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, organized in Bangkok, Thailand.
Contributing to Agenda Item 3 on “Thematic discussions on progress and challenges with regard to implementing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration at all levels, with due respect to its cross-cutting and interdependent guiding principles”, ADSP delivered a statement calling on States in the Asia-Pacific region to formalize refugee and irregular migrants’ right to work and support expedited registration processes for asylum seekers to achieve GCM Objectives 15 and 16, and thus contribute to durable solutions.
The statement is available here.
