Welcome to the ADSP’s Q3 Newsletter for 2020. In this issue we have contributions from colleagues working in Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Our colleagues at IRC Bangladesh share the findings from their research No Time to Lose: An Urgent Call for Access to Quality Education for Rohingya Children in Cox’s Bazar.” This report highlights a number of barriers to education, and the need for education to be prioritised as a stepping towards a durable solution for the Rohingya.

From Afghanistan, we have a case study from the Danish Refugee Council’s TVET Training initiative. In addition, our colleagues at the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) have provided an incredibly useful insight into the impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable populations inside Afghanistan. This analysis was borne from NRC’s eight-country survey of 1,400 refugees, IDPs and host community members. Finally, we explore the EU-Afghanistan Joint Way Forward agreement, and the need for there to be greater support provided in hosting countries such as Pakistan, Iran and Turkey.
